About

Hello. I’m so glad you stopped by.

I’ve been hanging out here at PotOfManna for quite a few years now. I love the image of God feeding the people daily in the wilderness (You can find the story in the Bible, Exodus 16). Not long ago I added the tagline: “The Care and Feeding of a Living Sacrifice” after leading a study on Romans 12. I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. (Romans 12:1)

So what will you find here at POM? Daily grace to grow your faith.

I’m a simple girl who majors in the practical. I see God everywhere and tend to share my “aha” moments. So the posts you find here will reflect those things.

I have reached what is probably considered the second half of life, chronologically speaking, that is. That means I’ve been married for 44 years, have 2 grown daughters, and three teenage grandchildren.

I worked in my field of training, pastor/counselor, for over 25 years. In the middle, I had to take a break, and during that time worked several very challenging jobs. But this isn’t just the second half of life for me, it’s also my second chance. I’m sort of living out my “do over” and seeking more diligently to do the things I know and live the things I believe, while staying open to growth and all of life’s new possibilities. It’s not always easy, but it’s certainly never boring.

The restoration I have experienced in the last few years has been an “exceedingly above and beyond” all I could ask or imagine. I was blessed to pastor the most loving congregation for five years. In January 2020 my mother became ill and needed help and companionship. I had the privilege of providing care for Mom in Arizona up until her death on Christmas Eve morning 2121.

I moved back to Ohio, and began a time of discerning what was to be next while supporting my husband as he cares for his mother. Recently I accepted a position as pastor of the Mansfield (OH) First Church of the Brethren. I am excited about this new adventure and humbled by their confidence in my leadership.

This my journey. I hope we’ll find joy together as we travel along.
