Sunday Responsible for my property/space
Text: Above the Horse Gate, the priests repaired the wall. Each one repaired the section immediately across from his own house. (Nehemiah 3:28, NLT)
If you have time this morning, read verses 28-32. There are several references there to each person building, repairing, and rebuilding next to their own house.
The old gospel hymn pleads with God to send a revival, but start the work in me.
We’re pretty good at seeing what needs to be done in and by others. But the example we have here in Nehemiah is that each one took care of the work on their own house first.
Jesus shared this truth with his followers when he told them to be sure to get the log out of their own eye before they address the speck in their neighbor’s (see Matthew 7:3).
PRAYER: Lord, help me see what work there is to do in my house, and in my life. And help me. Start the work in me. Amen.
I will do something!
